We left Nova Scotia yesterday. We had hoped to take the Yarmouth, NS ferry to Bar Harbor, Maine, but it was cancelled because of wind. We ended up taking the Digby, NS to St. John, NB ferry which left us a longer drive than expected.

Bar Harbor was teeming with tourists! This morning, we took a very cursory look at Acadia National Park and got some information for future hiking there.

We then drove to Hallowell to have lunch with recent arrival Phyllis Renfro. We had a delicious lunch beside the Kennebec River and good visit.

We spent the afternoon in terrible traffic but made it to Hartford, Connecticut for the night. Tomorrow, it home to DC.

Today we visited the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens. This beautiful 17 acre garden is one of the most significant plant collections in Canada. There are dikes built by the Acadians and an Acadian house and kitchen garden. You can learn more at www.historicgardens.com. It's worth a visit if you are in Nova Scotia.

We followed our garden tour with lunch in town. You can see that Edith and Michael are enjoying the lovely day and company.

Another beautiful day in Nova Scotia. We had seafood for lunch in Digby. My scallops were fresh and wonderful!

We went to see the light house at St. Mary's Bay.

Edith and Michael have named their house Chestnut Cottage. It is lovely and comfortable.

We're in Canada again. We are in Deep Brook in Nova Scotia visiting my sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Michael. Today we went to the market in Annapolis Royal and visited Fort Anne.

This afternoon at their house, Michael picked cherries with Norman's help; Edith and I made cherry pie. Delicious (with a gluten free crust, of course).
