We left Houston this morning at 7:15am. The sun was coming up as we packed the last few things.
Tonight, we are in Muleshoe, Texas (between Lubbock, Texas and Clovis, New Mexico). The sun is going down.
As we are wont to say, "The sun has riz; the sun has set; and here we is in Texas yet." An early 1900's hobo gets credit for this rhyme. Maybe he hopped a freight in Orange or Beaumont one morning and didn't make it to El Paso and the Texas border before the sun had dropped below the horizon. We know the feeling! But we have had a blessedly uneventful day of driving.
