Yesterday, on the way from Rotterdam, we stopped to see the Kinderdijk Windmills.

We made our way through a lock.

Later, we arrived Hoorn in time to enjoy an orange sunset.

This morning, after a lovely sunrise, we took a walking tour of Hoorn including a performance of dances and songs by a neighboring troupe.

We spent last night in Dordrecht and had a short walk around this morning.

At lunchtime, our boat moved on to Rotterdam. After a short walk to nearby sights, we are enjoying watching the very busy traffic on the New Meuse River.

We are moored between two modern bridges.

After a visit with dear friends in Nijmegen, we had a walking tour of the city. It was wonderful to see Iris after 20 years. She and her husband showed us some sights of the area as well as their home and Iris’ lab.

And here are some sights from our walking tour.

Today we had a short visit to Xanten and its cathedral.

We are now on board the Viking Kvasir. We left Brussels at 9pm last night and docked in Antwerp before dawn. This morning, we took a walking tour of  some ancient parts of the city.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is beautiful and the largest Gothic building in the Dutch-speaking world. It is home of four Rubens paintings.

We leave for Maastricht this afternoon.

We’ve just arrived in Moreton in Marsh again as we end our walk. Yesterday, we stayed in Chipping Campden, a charming old town which is also the beginning and end of the Cotswold Way. We followed parts of the Cotswold Way along with parts of several other paths.

We stayed in The Noel’s Arms last night. We looked out of our Edwardian themed room at the old market and World War I memorial across the street. I’ve included a picture of our bed which was quite spectacular.

The scenery remained wonderful throughout or route.

Near the end of our walk today, we visited the Cotswold Falconry Center and saw a demonstration of several of the birds.

Tomorrow we’re off by train to Brussels to begin the next portion of our trip!
