Yesterday afternoon, we hiked to a replica of a Mandan Indian village and the museum with artifacts and history displays.

Today’s drive was short, giving us time to explore Fort Abraham Lincoln which had both cavalry and infantry posts. The fort commander was George Armstrong Custer. The restored Cavalry Barracks has photographs and biographical sketches of many of the troops who died at the Battle of Little Big Horn.

The Infantry Post has three rebuilt Blockhouses which served as sentry post and defensive positions along the Missouri River.
