Our walking
tour of Bergen took us to the World Heritage Site of the Hanseatic League trading
enclave where the old wooden buildings are being restored. We ended our tour at
the inside fish market where we had an assortment of Norwegian dishes including
5 samples of dried or smoked fish, some reindeer sausage, and some brown cheese.
Our tour also took us by St. Mary’s Church where, later, we met Laurie and Sigurd Ogaard for a nice visit. It was the highlight of our day to catch up with these old friends. We found out, when we got back to our ship, that the weather has changed our itinerary. We’ll have to skip the Shetland Islands because of gale force winds tomorrow. Norman has applied his scopolamine patch to be ready for our departure at 10pm tonight.

Kathryn wants to know if you went to sleep before the boat left at 10pm or stayed awake to see it leave.
ReplyDeleteWe decided to go to bed. I woke up at about 10:45 when I felt the engines running. I looked out, but we still at the dock. We must have gotten underway about 11:00. It was very dark with nothing much to see except our moving away from the lights on shore.
