We’ve arrived in Middlewich, England for the canal boat portion of our trip. We spent 2 lovely days with our friends, Keith and Penny Mason, in Milngavie, Scotland, just outside of Glasgow. Keith’s mother and my mother met one another as young girls and remained friends until the end. Keith and I have known each other since we were children. Whenever I cross the Atlantic, I try to visit these dear friends.

 

Tonight, we are at the Boar’s Head Hotel.

 

Now we will spend a week on a canal boat exploring the Shropshire Union Canal toward Chester. Here is our boat -

The Tana Fjord

          58 ft long; 6 ft wide

 We’ll not have WiFi on the boat, but I’ll be taking pictures and posting whenever we get to a pub where I can connect.
