While we wait for the free tram to begin, I’ll post a little more about yesterday. We walked through one of the lovely little parks on the way to St. Paul’s. There is a fountain dedicated to the memory of JFK. there are huge eucalyptus trees and other species I am not sure of. Some are what appear to be giant rhododendrons, still in bud but sure to be spectacular in bloom.
We ate lunch at Federation Square at small restaurant that serves native dishes. My emu heart seasoned with hibiscus and pickled quandongs (a native plum) was delicious and just right before a shared piece of purple yam cheesecake (we devoured the cheesecake before I got a picture!).
After lunch, we joined an organized tour of shopping/dining areas known as lanes and arcades. The arcades are historic shopping areas catering for the wealthiest down to more regular folks. Now, they are filled with small boutique shops - lots of jewelry and chocolate!
The lanes are the alleyways. Once the place of garbage collection, they now boast numerous small restaurants and street art.

Emu heart? Really?
