Tonight we are in Havre, Montana. Even by Texas standards, Montana is a pretty big state. The name Big Sky certainly fits Montana.

We stopped for lunch at a nice park beside the Missouri River -

As we drove west, the topography becomes more rolling. Everywhere there are huge plowed fields or cattle pastures.

Here is today's map. Tomorrow we drive to Glacier National Park.

  1. What roads are you taking into/around Glacier?

  2. Not too much is open yet, even visitor centers. We'll just go around the south of the park and stay in the town of West Glacier. We'll get to see Lake McDonald, but that's about it.

  3. Will you visit the Missouri River Headwaters State Park between Billings and Bozeman? The confluence of 3 rivers, very pretty.

  4. No, from here we head north to Canada. Maybe another time.
