Day 3 of our walk promised to be even windier than day 2 with heavy rain in the afternoon. We decided to ditch the day's walk for a little side sightseeing.

As we waited for the bus from Osmotherly to Stokesley, we could see last night'sd dinner spot across the street. If you're ever in Osmotherly, we recommend the Golden Lion -

At Stokesley we got a taxi to Ormesby Hall, a house that is a part of the National Trust

The house was lived in until the widow of the last Pennyman died in 1987. Death taxes and a lack of direct heirs helped make the decision to donate the property. Part of the estate is still farm land complete with a "who who" to keep the sheep away from the house while not marring the view - a bit like a sheep moat -

Tonight we are at Newlands House in Great Broughton -

We enjoyed an afternoon drink at the Jet Miners Pub -

This evening is clear but chilly and windy. Tomorrow we walk!
