Day 5 dawned chilly and windy with a climb up to the moors from Clay Bank. In the distance, we could see the Captain Cook Monument -

Off in the distance we could also see Roseberry Topping. The view from there is rumored to be spectacular. The day was clear, and we decided we didn't need to hike to the top of the Topping to enjoy the view -

Far in the background, we could see the North Sea. Here is a view a little farther along

After several miles on the moors, we turned into the forest. The berries are everywhere. There are blackberries, wild blueberries and several trees with red berries. One may be a member of the hawthorn family; here is another whose identity I don't know -

Any ideas? Needless to say, we haven't tasted these.

We stopped for a break in Skelton Green -

We still had over 2 miles to go. A while later, we crossed Skelton Beck on this footbridge. In the background, you may be able to see the railroad bridge and viaduct -

Way after we saw the sign that said "Saltburn 1 mile", we finally came to our hotel, the Spa Hotel, which is right on the North Sea. I'll get a picture tomorrow, but here is a picture of the coast nearby -
