Here is a picture of last night's RV park in Dubois, Wyoming. It was a chilly night. In fact, Norman had his jacket on when I woke up this morning.

Our drive took us over three passes today. As we approached Teton Pass, we marveled at how much snow is still on the ground:

Soon we glimpsed the Tetons in the distance:

Here are the Tetons from the Grand Tetons National Park:

Our day's drive took us through some beautiful scenery. We stopped beside the Snake River to have lunch:

Our next stop was the visitor center at the Craters of the Moon. We watched a short film about the exploration of the area by Robert Limbert. He was a taxidermist looking for a dwarf grisly bear. Instead, he hiked through a remarkable area, located many volcanoes, water sources and caves. He published an article for National Geographic  in 1924 which led to the areas designation as a National Park.

The lava fields extend for many miles. Norman and I won't be adding this hike to our wish list!

Tonight we are in Hagerman, Idaho. Tomorrow we are on to Oregon.

  1. Idaho is still on my list of states to get to. More pictures of both of you! Looks beautiful.
